25 underage drinkers arrested at keg party
An officer on patrol around 1:30 a.m. May 28 spotted the party at a Mallory Manor Court home and ordered people out of the home, according to the police report obtained by the AJC.
"While standing outside the basement windows, I could see several of what appeared to be teenagers and empty beer bottles around the basement easily within their reach," the report states.
But those inside the home refused to come outside, prompting the officer to secure a search warrant for the home and call other officers to the home.
Through a window, a home owner, Robert McCormick, asked officers what would happen if he didn't open the front door, police said. McCormick was told that the officers would force their way in, and he opened the door, according to the report. Inside the home, officers found a keg in the garage and empty gas tubes, possibly used to get "high."
Out of the 41 people in the home, 29 were arrested. Twenty-five people under the age of 21 were charged with underage drinking, and those older than 17 were booked into the Alpharetta jail. Juveniles were released to their parents.
McCormick and his wife, Susan McCormick, were arrested along with another couple, Scott and Theresa Snyder of Alpharetta.
An attorney for the McCormicks told Channel 2 Action News the couple was hosting a party for adults and did not provide alcohol to teenagers. Attorney Robert Rubin said teenagers arriving at the home later in the evening brought their own alcohol.

2 1/2 Weeks go by and FG was good everything seemed fine but it was very tart almost like a cidery, not that bad but definitely not able to drink regularly. I took it off the yeast and placed it in a keg and carbed thinking age and the coolness would help get rid of some of the tartness and after a week it did die down a bit. Hopefully in time it will a lot more. So over the weekend I am looking into things. I've never had an infection so I looked that up and threw that theory out because there is no sour taste, no visible signs anywhere, etc. Then I thought about my starter. I remembered it overflowed out of my 3000ml flask, and remembered that I thought the starter seemed rather large anyways. Mr. Malty said use around 3 liters for 1.079 with a 5 gallon batch. When I got to the website I realized that I forgot to change it from "Simple Starter" to "Stir Plate". So now my theory is that the extreme overpitch might have caused the odd flavor. Below is a something I found on Wyeasts page. So am I correct in assuming that the overpitch is the cause or are their other reasons for tartness? Is there a way to fix it?
