Cambridge tops the table as the moaning capital of Britain

THEY’LL probably sue us for saying so, but Cambridge has been revealed as the moaning capital of Britain.

Driven to breaking point by its booming economy, majestic architecture and lazy days punting on the river, the residents of the ancient university city in East Anglia, have fired off the country’s highest number of compensation claims, a survey has revealed.

A study by online legal eagles LawOptions.co.uk found that 28% of the city’s residents had complained about incidents, ranging from falls and accidents to injuries at work.

Ambulance-chasers from Aberystwyth were not far behind with 27% of the population putting in bids for damages.

Coventry and Wrexham shared third place with 25% of locals penning angry letters to figures in authority about being hard done by about something.

Still unhappy but staying out of court, the Welsh were named as Britain’s top cry babies. A third of residents in Cardiff and Swansea admit calling their mum if they had been involved in a bust-up.

The Scots are no happier, although they complain less. A quarter of them confessed that they would pursue a complaint in writing – but had absolutely no idea how they should go about it.

According to the survey, Scousers reckoned the biggest whingers lived in the North West – including their hometown of Liverpool, along with Manchester, Chester, Cumbria and Lancashire.

Brighton folk were the least likely to make a claim after suffering injury, as they were too guilty about taking money from another person or organisation.

And the calmest place in Britain is Gloucester, with less than one in 10 ­residents ever writing angry letters or demanding compensation.
