Give your face a lift

A softer, brighter and prettier face is a welcome thought. You want it particularly during summers when the sun just wrecks your face with pimples, dark spots, dots, warts and what not.

“Tired of maintaining your skin? Try our facials and you won't regret it,” promises Rathina Priya at the Naturals Spa in K.K. Nagar. Facials come in all flavours, colours and prices and of course are meant for different purposes. “Facial is a larger term and rather it should be termed ‘treatment' as it repairs a damaged face.” She adds, “We suggest facials to clients depending on their problem, the skin type and the extent of damage.”

The exotic ingredients on the menu look exciting but the fanciful prices may give you an initial thud in the heart. To start with, the caring spa experts lend free gyan on home remedies and some basic summer skin-maintaining techniques. “Creams with Aloe Vera can work wonders on a darkened skin and will also soothe out sunburns and rashes,” says a member of the spa staff.

Once you are convinced to confide your skin problems to them, they help you settle on a suitable facial. “In harsh summers, it is wine that makes your skin shine,” elaborates Rathina Priya. “Wine facial contains antioxidants and increases blood circulation. They keep wrinkles and ageing at bay. We have introduced the facial recently and the response is good. We recommend people to go for it, as it also gives extra nourishment to the skin, revitalizes and rejuvenates the face.” She also says that two to three sips of wine after the facial will go a long way in enhancing the effect. The wine facial is a 75-minute indulgence that comes for Rs. 2010.

To remove skin tan, she suggests the bright and white facials, also called the radiance SPA facials. They remove sun spots and pigmentation and give skin clarity.

There are also fresh fruit facials using cucumber, orange and neem. “Peaches flavour is a new arrival and is much favoured by even middle-aged women. It wards off wrinkles and increases elasticity of the skin,” says a make-up artist. The fruit facial takes an hour and is offered for Rs. 1200. For an unblemished face, hit on the hibiscus facial as it contains anti-inflammatory agents and cures rashes.

The team explains all its facials to any walk-in customer, and if you are still not able to zero in on one, simply sign up for the rejuvenating facial, the signature service of the spa.
