"True Blood" is finally back
I've never liked vampires.
Or werewolves. To be honest, I'm not a fan of supernatural. But I love "True Blood."
If you've never seen the HBO hit, it's hard to understand how someone would like something that has every possible mythic figure in it (even fairies and shapeshifters). It's simple: "True Blood" recognizes the camp, and even glorifies it, of the genre.

And now it's back for its fourth season. To catch up (SPOILER ALERT- DO NOT READ PAST THIS SENTENCE IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN SEASON 3. IT WILL RUIN THE SHOW FOR YOU AND I CAN'T BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT):
-We now know Sookie (or Suh-Kay, as Bill says) is a fairy. It should explain everything, but from the eight minute preview on HBO , it looks like it's just going to make her powers more complicated.
-We are now dealing with werewolves. Jason, Sookie's brother, was stuck with a compound of possible wolves when his girlfriend, who often morphs into a panther (seriously) went off with some other werewolf dude to save her people. Can't remember her name, but it doesn't matter because I'm hoping she won't be back for season four. We also got introduced to Alcide, a nice werewolf. Apparently that's possible.
-Vampire Bill, Sookie's man, is no longer Sookie's man. They broke up because Bill was keeping something from Sookie. It left off with Bill in an awesome vampire fight with the Louisiana Queen.
-Vampire Eric almost burned (to death?) sacrificing himself to kill his nemesis, Russell. In the end, Eric lived and Russell was buried alive in cement. By the way, there's a lot of attempts of sacrificing oneself to save another in this show, but rarely does it ever happen.
-Tara pulled a "Felicity" and cut off all of her hair and ditched Bon Temps. My bet is she'll be back by the end of the first episode.
So, now that you're all caught up, here's what we can expect from the season opener:
-Sookie hangs out with her fairy/real grandfather, played by Gary Cole (mostly known for playing the crappy boss in "Office Space," but to me he'll always be Mr. Brady in the "Brady Bunch Movie").
-Bill and Eric join forces to convince people that vampires are not all evil. This will happen at night, of course.
-We'll see who prevails in the battle of male vampire (Bill) versus Vampire Queen of Louisiana (Sophie-Ann). My money is on Bill.
