Full card set for Stikeforce Friday

STRIKEFORCE®  has confirmed the remaining fights for its STRIKEFORCE Challengers event taking place this Friday at the ShoWare Center in Kent, Wash. In the main event, Kirkland, Washington’s Caros “The Future” Fodor goes head-to-head with dangerous lightweight James Terry. Also featured on the card is Ryan Couture, son of UFC® Hall of Famer Randy Couture, who meets undefeated Matt Ricehouse in 155-pound action.  Additionally, Germaine de Randamie will meet Julia Budd in an exciting women’s 145-pound bout.

STRIKEFORCE Challengers, which is presented by Rockstar Energy Drink, will air LIVE on SHOWTIME® at 11 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the West Coast). The broadcast also features Lorenz “The Monsoon” Larkin (10-0) taking on Gian Villante (7-2) in a light heavyweight collision and a welterweight bout between Jason “The Kansas City Bandit” High (14-3) and Quinn Mulhern (15-1).

“Washington has become a hotbed for mixed martial arts and we’re excited to head back to Kent with this exciting card featuring local stars Caros Fodor and Ryan Couture,” STRIKEFORCE CEO Scott Coker said. “Our Challengers events have delivered some outstanding fights and we expect nothing less on Friday.”

Preliminary bouts include undefeated middleweight Derek Brunson (6-0) taking on Jason “The Hawk” Hamilton (8-0), Trevor “Hot Sauce” Smith (7-1) against Keith “KO Kid” Barry (11-6) in a light heavyweight matchup, Brazilian Eduardo Pamplona (14-2) battling Jerron “1 Man Riot” Peoples (4-1) at welterweight, and a lightweight bout between Sterling “Thunda Kat” Ford (12-4) and Charon “Night Train” Spain (7-3).

As mixed martial arts (MMA) continues to gain momentum as the fastest growing sport in history, the action is heating up nowadays with the ladies pounding it out alongside the men. No longer considered to be just another “guy’s sport,” MMA is attracting both male and female fight fans from all around the world, with both parties joining in on the action inside the cage. The wife of UFC light heavyweight fighter Brandon “The Truth” Vera, Kerry Vera is moving her way up the ranks in the fight world, with a recent victory over Kim Couture.
